Topic:  Improving Diversity and Avoiding Bias with Artificial Intelligence

Presenter:  Mr. Doug Smith, Vice President at Tallan

We all have a critical mission to ensure that our organizations support equal employment opportunities for all. As recruiting strategies become more reliant on AI systems, software and processes, how do we know that the mechanisms we are using don't have some sort of hidden bias? The information that we need to uncover this bias is traditionally difficult to understand, access and use in a meaningful way. We will explore where to look for this information and how we can use modern technology such as Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to gain access to ensure that the systems, technology and processes we use support organizational goals related to equal employment opportunities.

In this session, you will learn:

  • How to view your recruiting process as a system and identify and avoid potential areas of bias created by the recruiting system barriers
  • Where to find information that will identify hidden bias and a review of how to interpret metrics and data accurately
  • Opportunities to uncover more information using AI and ML
